The Parable of the Four Soils ~
This is one of the most told parables. Jesus often taught in parables. A parable is defined as, "a short allegorical story designed to illustrate or teach some truth,
religious principle, or moral lesson." For some these stories made sense right away, but many needed explanations. Tomorrow we will get the explanation. DON'T READ AHEAD! Spend the next day contemplating what Jesus might mean.
A farmer is sowing his seed.
Birds ate the seed scattered on the path.
The rocky soil produced fast-growing, but weak plants that quickly died in the shallow soil.
The seed that fell among the thorns was choked out by those quick growing weeds.
The seed that fell on the good soil flourished & produced a huge crop.
Hmmm . . . what does it mean to you?
