I find it interesting that the first birth announcement was given to shepherds, lowly nobodies in the Jewish society. It shows that God doesn't not care about your social status, your wealth, your power or success. God cares about everyone, everyone is equal. How wonderful!
The shepherds told everyone they saw of what they saw, spreading the message of the Messiah. And Mary, who had such a mother's heart, treasured all these events. Jesus wasn't just God, he was a son, a member of a family.
