Luke 10:1-24

Jesus sends out 72 of His believers on a mission of healing and gospel proclamation.  As He sends them out, He gives them some instructions:

1)  Don't take anything with you.  These missionaries are trusting God to provide.
2)  Don't greet anyone on the way.  Greetings were lengthy and time-consuming.  This does not mean they were to be rude.  They simply had a job to do & weren't to get into long conversations on their way.
3)  Stay in the home of one believer, don't jump around from house to house.
4)  Eat & drink whatever they give you
5)  If no one invites you to stay with them, go into the streets (a public place) and shake off the dust (a symbolic act of judgment.)

When the 72 returned, they were excited by what they had experienced.  Even the demons are subject!    Jesus responds that He has given the believers great authority in His name, but the most important thing they have been given is eternal life.  Jesus then rejoices that these believers have faith.

Jesus rejoices when you come to faith too.  Isn't that awesome?
