Mark tell us that Jesus was taken up to heaven to sit at the right hand of God. This signifies that He completed His work, has the authority as God, and has been coronated King. The disciples obeyed & preached the Word.
- so two short Scriptures define who Jesus is & what we are to do.
Luke goes into a little more detail. In Acts Luke tells us that Jesus spent 40 days with His disciples. After that time the events of 24:44-53 take place. Jesus summarizes who He is & what His ministry is - He is God, who died on the cross to forgive your sins. We are to tell the world about Him. Jesus promised a helper - the Holy Spirit. He is available to every believer today. But, the disciples are to stay in the city - Jerusalem - until the helper arrives. Then Jesus led them to Bethany, blessed them and was taken up to heaven.
So - Jesus is God, He died, rose, and ascended into heaven. He paid the price for sin - yours & mine. If we believe that statement, we are believers. Go out and tell others - become a disciple.
